Advising a young agency on positioning

October 19, 2009

There are over 14,000 registered nonprofits in the greater San Francisco Bay Area.  Many of them work in the field of education and youth.

One of the first challenges for any young agency working in that field is distinguishing itself in that very crowded field. Faced with that challenge, the Cleo Eulau Center turned to CWR for advice.

We honed in on the distinctive approach of the center: equipping educators in dealing with the emotional issues of its students, especially for the ones that seem the most problematic for teachers. CWR provided advice on how to position itself accordingly as uniquely sitting at the intersection of mental health and teacher training.  In addition, we provided recommendations on how the several year old nonprofit could improve its overall marketing, including dramatic steps like renaming itself to gain better memorability.

Our extensive track record of successfully helping nonprofits working on a wide variety of issues means we ourselves enjoy a unique position in the marketplace: armed with a bird's eye view on the nonprofit sector, we know what enables a nonprofit to be distinctive.

Help One Child

We're a relatively small outfit. But Consulting Within Reach always treated us like we mattered a great deal. They were extremely attentive and patient. And they delivered expert results that were surprisingly affordable. With their report, we're armed to approach foundations in a whole new way.
