Congresswoman's initiative relies on CWR web marketing
To address the impact of the current economic downturn on the area's most vulnerable residents, Rep. Jackie Speier (D-12th District) recently called upon several key stakeholders of San Mateo County.
Over the course of several weeks, the congresswoman convened a small group of local government officials, philanthropists, nonprofit leaders, and businessmen. Consulting Within Reach CEO Curtis Chang was invited to participate.
The result: San Mateo Cares, a direct assistance loan program for economically vulnerable residents. Fundraising for the program will be spearheaded by the congresswoman and other philanthropists. The exeuction of the program will be undertaken by some of the major nonprofits in the county.
The group agreed on San Mateo Cares in a meeting on November 24, 2008. To start the fundraising process, it needed a website up by Dec. 4th, 2008. It is almost impossible to find a commerical web development firm who would take on such a project with a 10 day turnaround requirement.
We agreed to take it on. We have a proven track record in rapid delivery of websites under short notice. And our team operates with a willingness to do what it takes for compelling causes.
