Innovative school seeks our fundraising expertise

December 9, 2008

Executive director Michele Sharkey recognizes that the current financial climate makes investing in fundraising effectiveness even more critical. When faced with a potential budget shortfall, she understands that there is a limit to defensive cost cutting.  What is also needed is a proactive strategy to increase revenue.

She is relying on Consulting Within Reach to achieve the necessary fundraising improvements.

The San Francisco 49ers Academy represents the kind of innovative nonprofit that often chooses CWR.  The Academy targets at risk youth in East Palo Alto with an especially relationship intensive strategy and is a leader in a public-private approach to education.  The Academy's sterling reputation led the football team to formally adopt the school and lend its name to the school's fundraising efforts.

We will provide insight and implementation in several areas, including the cultivation of individual donors and the use of its relationship to the 49ers more effectively.  Practical capacity building deliverables will involve installing a cost effective donor database solution, designing new collateral, and more.

We are so convinced that we can help Michele that our project agreement includes a 50% refund if she doesn't at least recoup the cost of the project in the first year alone.

We don't always include such a clause, but it is indicative of our commitment to only take on projects where we are convinced we can deliver substantial value to our client.

Contact us if you feel you need help in increasing your revenue in the year to come.

We're a relatively small outfit. But Consulting Within Reach always treated us like we mattered a great deal. They were extremely attentive and patient. And they delivered expert results that were surprisingly affordable. With their report, we're armed to approach foundations in a whole new way.
