Advising the Diocese of San Jose on infrastructure

April 20, 2009

The Diocese of San Jose is a complex organization, comprising 81 parishes and schools.  Integrating the various financial records and reporting of these diverse entities is a key infrastructure need.

Up until now, much of the work had been done via hard copy reports submitted on an annual basis. The Chief Financial Officer sought a more sophisticated system that would save effort and money while giving him real time visibility into the finances across his diocese.

Changing long held practices in a large institution presents special challenges. So the Diocese asked CWR to help navigate the various technical and strategic options.

Consulting Within Reach helped the Diocese to make an informed decision by examining other dioceses across the country, researching various vendors, and interviewing key stakeholders.  We recommended a specially designed hosted solution and outlined the required cost structure.

The solution met all of the CFO's requirements while requiring little additional IT infrastructure.  CWR matched the technical recommendation with a change management strategy best suited for the way that the Diocese functions.

CWR serves a variety of organizations, from smaller growing agencies to established complex institutions.  Whatever the type, we bring to bear our special combination of expertise and sensitivity.
