Former television reporter joins our team
Grace Lynch has signed on with the Consulting Within Reach team as a marketing/communications expert. Grace comes with years of experience in journalism, having covered local stories as a TV reporter for CBS and NBC affiliates.
Journalism is in many respects a natural proving ground for consultants. A reporter must be able to enter a new situation, sort through a slew of details, quickly identify the most critical themes, and then compose the narrative.
As the latest addition to the CWR team, Grace will bring those same skills to serve organizations that need to tell their story in a more compelling fashion. We believe this is a critical service we can especially offer to nonprofits who feel a need to increase their fundraising effectiveness (which is just about every one!).
In both its fundraising and core mission, almost every nonprofit would love to get favorable media coverage. Very few know how to obtain it. Grace will bring the kind of media expertise that is usually available only to very well resourced organizations within reach of compelling causes.
A passion particular to Grace is especially exciting for us: she loves not just to tell great stories herself, but also to train others to become effective storytellers in their own right. A halllmark of the Consulting Within Reach approach is a commitment to build long term capabilities in our clients -- and not just create dependencies on our efforts. We aspire to equip our clients to communicate their message on their own, long after we've left the scene.
Grace is already brimming with innovative ideas in this area. We can't wait to get started!
