Individual Fundraising Strategy

Expertise: Elissa consults with nonprofits and foundations on strategy, fundraising, governance, and leadership. After nearly 20 years as an executive director of mission driven grant seeking and grant making organizations, she began consulting with impassioned leaders looking to grow their impact.

Experience: Throughout her career, Elissa had the opportunity to lead organizations through times of significant growth. She served as the first-ever executive director of the Wellington Management Foundation as they crafted their strategic direction and grew internationally. For 14 years she led Breakthrough Greater Boston as it expanded from one city to three, quadrupled the students served, extended programming from four years to ten, more than tripled its staff, and increased revenue from $600k to $5M. In 2018, she was awarded the Ten Outstanding Young Leaders distinction by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. Elissa has served on local and national boards of directors and remains an active volunteer.

Education: Elissa holds a Master’s in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor’s in Education from Boston College. Through both degrees, she examined the intersection of diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
